I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Butterfly Network
Interview
This was pointlessly long. First there was a call with a recruiter. Then I had an initial (normal) interview, and a product demo. This last bit was actually nice as it gave a lot more context for the position and the company. Then there were three additional technical interviews.
All told I wasted at least 6 hours of my life on this.
The last three interviews were frustrating and tedious. The people conducting the interviews were simply other developers who all seemed to have no interest in being there nor any evident experience interviewing people. During my "in-depth coding" session, in particular, the interviewer simply sat there saying nothing watching me write code.
It's frustrating to again run up against hit or miss live coding exercises. That's simply not how you do development, and it feels like I got screwed by some asinine, nitpicky mistakes. There was no specific feedback for this decision, simply the generic "we have decided to move forward with other candidates" platitude.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Something about cloud hosting system design, coding a stupid scrabble game, and then designing an "API" (that problem in particular was incredibly vague and poorly constructed).
I had a screen interview that went very well and I was scheduled to go on to the next interview. But as part of setting it up, I received an email stating:
Effective 8/27/21, Butterfly Network requires, as a condition of employment, proof of vaccination for COVID-19 subject to accommodation for sincerely held religious beliefs and/or disability.
I consider this a clear case of medical discrimination against anyone choosing not to participate in a gene therapy still in experimental trials, and only available under extended Federal EUA.

Question 1
We discussed my prior projects with a focus on C++. The interview itself was very professional and I was excited to advance--right up until their HR Vaccine Mandate!
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Butterfly Network (New York, NY) in May 2021
Interview
First a phone screen with the in house recruiter.
Then I talked with the hiring manager. And he gave me a live ultrasound demo showing his carotid and jugular arteries.
Finally I had 2 hands on coding interviews, and one SW design interview.

In a mobile app, how would you handle a conflict between the app's local database, and the back-end source of truth?
