I went through the usual stuff with HR, and eventually was asked to come in for a interview. I declined to do so because they wanted me (as part of the interview) to do a presentation on my career. So I told them to forget it. That's got to be one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard of. Why not spend the time talking about my career with back and forth? And if you are interested in my presentation skills....why not ask about that too? Fortunately, I found a company with more sense and life is better.
Highly unethical. Interviewed for a posted Project Manager position. The interview began with a manager telling me that the posting was not for a particular position - just to talk with individuals in case "something came available".
