I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Brown and Caldwell (Mobile, AL) in Jan 2026
Interview
Very kind team to talk to and very knowledgeable in process/mechanical engineering. I would love to join their team as a fully remote Process Mechanical Engineer. The company seems very stable and has solid relationships with their clients, as well as the engineers being all fully remote, which makes me feel confident the company won't randomly institute a return-to-office mandate and me either have to relocate or lose my job.

Interview
Relaxed and enjoyable, felt like a genuine conversation rather than being drilled with questions. Also, ample opportunity to ask questions at the end, so definitely come with a few solid questions prepared. The staff is friendly and willing to reach out for timeline updates and provide any further information if you are interested.
Had and interview with recruiter, then with hiring manager. The hiring manager decided not to hire me. [The hiring manager illegally made that that decision because I'm over 50} The hiring manager has since repopened the position at a lower salary. Avoid these people
