I was selected for a first-round, phone interview with BCBF that was scheduled to last around 20 minutes. I was a little nervous because I was really excited about the position and felt like 20 minutes was not a lot of time to make an impression. I was really disappointed to find out the interviewer was not from the department of the position I was interviewing for. Instead, she read a standard list of questions that probably could have been asked sent in written form. At the end I asked about the organization's culture/values and she said she didn't understand my question, which confused me a lot. I also asked about what in general makes someone a good fit since she couldn't answer specific questions about the position, and she said "I really don't know." She then proceeded to talk about how all of the people she had been interviewing weren't what she expected and that there were a lot of other applicants who were overqualified for the job. This was the worst interview experience I've ever had-- I cried for about 2 hours after hanging up.
