The actual interviews themselves were smooth. I submitted a resume, talked with the hiring manager, went in for an interview, then had a talk with someone from HR. Both staff members I interacted with were very pleasant during the interviews, and the questions asked were standard.
They contacted all of references and I was excited about potentially receiving an offer.
However, once I received my offer, things went downhill. The benefits information sent to me by HR included the medical + dental + life insurance plan details. It also mentioned limited details about
long/short term disability plans and an FSA option.
--No retirement information was included
--No details about leaves of absence (parental, etc.)
--No details about sick/vacation days other than # of each (e.g. can you roll them over, is there a cap, when do they take effect, is vacation paid out upon leaving, etc.)
--No details about an employee-provided perk through Aflac that the HR staff member mentioned was really cool in our offer conversation.
When I asked for such details I was told there were 2 retirement plan options (but was given no details on either) and that I would receive all other details/the full employee policy only once I accepted the offer.
I declined the offer because I was not provided with the full benefits details required to make an informed decision.
