I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Boston Consulting Group in Mar 2011
Interview
Two standard case interviews with partners, back on back (final stage).
Atmosphere quite relaxed, sounded more like a conversation - though of course you always have to pay attention to staying on track and delivering convincing, articulated answers.
1st case was more of a brainteaser - estimate the annual income of a taxi driver in Italy. Then a few fit questions (why BCG, why consulting, guide me through your resumé).
2nd case - Food & beverage industry, redefining the distribution strategy, a bit more complicated. Then other fit questions (most important achievement, why would hire you, tell me something that's not on your CV).
Overall very positive - I joined them for an internship and the office culture is extremely informal - with lots of empowerment for newbies like me.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Boston Consulting Group (Texas City, TX) in Apr 2026
Interview
you get a brief description of 2 interviewers who will be interviewing you beforehand, it is back to back cases, 45 min each. 10 mins on intro and soft question, 30 mins on case, 5 mins for questions at end. they call you within a day or 2 letting you know you progressed to next round. Next round which is final round is with more senior people, MDPs and Partners. Same structure but instead of being online they fly you into the office.
There was an online one to one case interview of 20 minutes with a project manager after the first round of virtual case interviews. I was asked on a business case.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What to do to increase car-maker X's sale revenue by 2 times in 5 years?
I was not offered an interview because I did not pass the online case assessment, which was a required screening step in the recruitment process during the initial application stage
