I wasn't very impressed with Bold Penguin. Comp was lower than market rate. Everyone I spoke to (expect HR) was a white male with their home office decorated in anime posters. Interview process required a take home assignment on top of a three phone screens (one HR, two tech) + onsite. Lastly, they insist on hiring people with 5+ years of Ruby/Rails experience and then ask interview questions that force candidates to write non-idiomatic Ruby (e.g. you cannot use certain build-in methods).
