I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Boeing in Jan 2009
Interview
Initial communication was the result of an internal posting that was referred by an employee. Application process was online. Intitial interview via telephone and subsequent interviews were one on one. Approximately four interviews and offer extended. Due diligence revealed a cultural misfit and offer declined. Organization very matrixed and structure appeared very rigid. Career path unclear and advancement not well defined. People were reasonable and professional, location great, and work environment seemed employee friendly.

I received a email inviting me to complete a preliminary questionnaire. I was moved forward. The next step in the process was a panel interview. There were many behavior questions. Unfortunately it took over four weeks for the rejection email.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you were faced with a difficult situation in the workplace. How did you overcome it?
Overly structured, stiff interview process. Very little give and take between applicant and interviewer. Interview panel was good, but also very little interaction. Sterile and challenging to get comfortable. A bit like an awkward first date.
