I came through an external recruiter so had an initial call with him before he connected me directly to the hiring manager. Chatted with the hiring manager for 30 minutes and after asking lots of questions, it turns out that there is no design process, design has no influence, and the company is very engineering-driven. He also sounded snooty talking about only willing to work in an agile environment but in reality that environment sounded like a hot mess - not agile at all. Overall, he enjoyed our call and wanted to have another one and said someone would reach back out. Their internal recruiter reached out to schedule a call and I asked if it was with the hiring manager and she said it's with her and then she'll decide to move me forward or not. I told her I already talked to the hiring manager and then she went on about how the external recruiter was not following the rules blah blah blah. I went ahead and scheduled a call anyway to respect the process (or whatever) and when the day came, she was a no show. (I waited 7+ minutes). I emailed withdrawing my candidacy and that was that.
