Calls were setup via phone and then onto Teams. I was vetted initially by the HR rep and continued communication throughout the process. Everything went fine and it seemed like the standard interview process. Some last minute schedule adjustments were needed, I was understanding of this as dealing with higher level employees schedules can be challenging and ever-changing. However, 20 minutes before the 4th and final interview, the recruiter emailed and let me know the position was being filled internally and they had "just found out." This final interaction seems to speak volumes on internal practices and organization. Very odd and unprofessional.
