Interview
The most unprofessional interview process I have ever been through. I was contacted initially to do a virtual interview with the supply chain management team for a buyer role. They required a full written essay on the future of space flight along with a 60 minute ppt presentation. The recruiter was unresponsive to questions I had and didn’t even respond to my submitted documents until about an hour before the interview. During the interview, the management team (which was all female) looked uninterested and even cut me off during the question portion at the end. The recruiter was so unprofessional that she left prior to the interview being complete. I put almost 15 hours into my essay and presentation and they dismissed me before even giving me a chance. They also asked questions that were unrelated to the buyer position to try to stump me. Definite discrimination on their part because they are only looking for a certain type of person, which was obvious by their hiring practice by looking at who the team and recruiters are at this company. White males beware and don’t waste your time with this company that doesn’t value diversity in their teams. Shame on Blue Origin. What a mess.

Interview
The interview process was quite extensive with 3 rounds. The first round was a brief phone call with the HR person. They asked a few questions about current and past roles. Basically just confirming I am who I say I am. The second round was another phone conversation with the manager of the team, the person who would be my direct boss. She also asked about my work history and some specific knowledge based questions applicable to my current and past roles. Further questions were about my comfortability with various aspects of the role. Logistical questions were answered at this time about in person/remote work and vaccination requirements (this was Jan 2022). I was invited to round 3, where I was asked to prepare a 30 minute presentation about a specific project I've worked on in my current or past roles, and an essay on why I wanted to work for Blue Origin. No parameters for the essay, I made mine about two paragraphs, a personal story tying back to my childhood. My presentation was only about 20 minutes.
