      9 Aug 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Gurgaon, Haryana
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Blinkit (Gurgaon, Haryana) in Jul 2019

      Interview

Last year I cracked Grofers but due to some personal issues, I was unable to Join. 2018 : (5 Rounds) 1. Phone screen - Went well and got a clear idea on what they are expecting from me. 2. Coding Assignment - A very good assignment which is perfect to access the development skills of a candidate. Even though I am quite occupied, I managed to complete it in 1 night out (Of course, Without test cases) After submitting the assignment, they invited me to Grofers Headquarters in Gurgaon for F2F rounds but I was pretty occupied in continuous business trips and I kept it postponed for about a month, but still, they waited with a lot of patience. Almost after 2 months of assignment, I visited Grofers office. 3. F2F Technical Round - It is core technical round went pretty well almost for 2 hours, Started with my experience, recent projects details, etc. Then went deep into Web Stack touching many concepts like browser rendering, Web workers, Service Workers, Event loop, Closure, HTTP2, Event handling, Node, etc. 4. Coding Round - Asked me to build a real-time Node logger + A web client printing the logs 4. F2F Round with VP Engineering (Cold Coffee Round) - This guy is so cool and very informative, Explained to me a lot about Grofers development process and the way they are working together to build a robust product. And then asked about me, Details of my recent projects, etc. 5. F2F Round with Engineering Director. - Very cool and informative as well, Spoke about many things at Grofers and also got every detail of my experience, skills, way of approach, etc. Everyone in the team I interacted with was pretty cool and awesome guys. A day after - They offered me! 2019 1. Got a small conversation with VP Engineering, He understood my issue last year and he referred me back to the system 2. HR Round - I got a LinkedIn invite form HR and then scheduled a phone call to take up the process forward. 3. Telephonic Round - I got a call from a Tech Lead and he said - "I think you already got an offer last year, So there is no point doing telephonic round, If you can come to Office we can have some F2F rounds and will close the deal" - I thought, He is right and yes let's go and take up the rounds ASAP. I called him back and said will come tomorrow. He is cool with my response and then HR scheduled further rounds. Next day I am at Grofers headquarters @ sharp 11 AM. I went to the interview but then I realized I am not sure about which role I will be interviewing for. This time It's with a different team 4. F2F Round with Lead - He is cool, He introduced himself and then asked me about my experience, skills, projects, etc. And then explained to me about the open roles in Grofers Engineering Team (Agile master, React, React-Native, SDE 3, Data Science). I said I am open to all those roles, Once after the interview process is done, you can decide which role I will be fit for. Then my interview process started 5. F2F Technical Round - This guy is really awesome, Literally one of the best interview for me till date. He touched very deep concepts of HTML Parsing, Browser rendering, HTTP2, JavaSscript, V8 Engine (Hidden classes, Linkers, etc), Node, DDD, Backtracking, etc. I did well but not great. But learned a lot. 6. F2F Tech Coding - It is again with the Lead, He asked me to build a system which takes ICC Worldcup table, Team name and should give the winning/final qualification result of the team. I took 30-40 min to do that. Missed a few corner cases but he is ok with it. Then he asked me some questions about JS, Code bundling, NPM, CSS Flex, Grid, etc. 7. Final Round (Engineering Director) - Awesome round, It almost went 1-2 hours. He is so cool and explained to me a lot of stuff about Grofers, Team, Working environment, etc. Later he is interested to know more about me and How deep I know about tech stuff and my approach towards solving a problem etc. Lot of questions, scenarios, cases, etc. It was a great interaction with him and after this round, I was really looking forward to joining the team HR asked me to leave the office, He said he will get back to me, Post getting collective feedback from all the rounds. A day after, YAY they offered me.
