Recruiter -> Engineering Manager -> 2 Technical Rounds -> Verbal Offer -> "the written offer is coming in two days we swear"-> after 1 month of this 2 day promise repeating itself many times, "The budget got cut for your role, the offer is rescinded, sorry."
The Good: Engineering Manager was really cool, he asked some behavioral questions + a theoretical question that wasn't even software specific. Think "how many piano tuners are there in new york city", but it's asking you to re-engineer a specific product to meet a new need.
Technical interviews were good too, very fair, folks were easy to talk with. One round was a System Design interview, the other was a pair coding challenge to "build/scope out a certain application".
The bad: The entire interview process was clouded with misunderstandings. I was told for the engineering manager round and the technical round I'd be doing a Leetcode style test in a coderpad- that was true for *neither* of them.
I was accidentally scheduled with the same person twice, which was apparently a mistake on their part (not a big deal really...)
Most frustrating of all - I was extended a verbal offer (great!), and told I'd get the written offer end of day or start of next week. That didn't happen, and they kept punting that date every 2-3 days... until a full month later, I was told they cut the funding for the role.
