First round is an OA with 2 leetcode problems around medium difficulty. Important to focus on code quality not just solving it as fast as possible.
Second round is an hour technical interview. No leetcode questions but be prepared to know the C++ language and explain computer science principles (ie data structures, inheritance, etc). No brainteasers or probability questions for me.
I didn't get to the third and fourth round but I was told its a take home assessment and then a technical interview going over the take home.
I applied online. I interviewed at BlackEdge in Dec 2025
Interview
The interview was with the Ops Manager for the team and while I have empathy for things popping up unexpectedly, the interviewer left to answer her door and was gone for 15 minutes. I led with grace regarding the circumstance, but it made the rest of the interview awkward.
I then receive an email that I made it to the next round and to prepare my recommendations on a company survey and outweigh some pros and cons regarding a new office location. I spent 2 hours working on this assessment and got it done immediately before the holiday week to set a good example.
What happened next left a sour taste in my mouth. On CHRISTMAS MORNING, I received a standard automated rejection email and that was it. No follow-up from the human I first met with, no feedback to the assessment I spent hours completely on a Friday, NOTHING.
To BlackEdge Capital, all I have to say is, DO BETTER. It's bad enough that the job market continues to be volatile, but to actually be so careless with your candidates and send a careless rejection email with no feedback, says volumes.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BlackEdge (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2025
Interview
Nice simple process overall: OA with mental math and probability, 1st round zoom interview with basic probability and mental math questions and some behavioral, 2nd round technical with Green Book style questions
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
estimate the square root of 200 to multiple decimal places
