The interview was facilitated by the SGinnovate rep. I did see the Glassdoor reviews, but during my preliminary "talk" with the SGinnovate rep, my overall impression was okay.
The first red flag was that he requested to do the interview post office hours at 6pm. 2nd red flag was that upon arrival, the interviewer was not there instead, he asked the intern to stay back just to wait for me. 3rd red flag was that he came 15 minutes late. 4th red flag, he said he doesn't like to get interrupted when he's talking. I literally just closed my laptop after showing him my work and he stared at me aggressively. 5th red flag, he asked me stupid questions about how I implemented triangulation in my FYP project, as if I created and solved triangulation. During my explanation, he kept interrupting me while raising his voice, asking for details when I was in the middle of doing so. When I was done talking, explaining that triangulation is just an equation that I plugged into my code, he said the shouting and interrupting were deliberately done to test me. Not really sure what he was testing, is it my patience? Is he saying this is what he expects me to deal with? To be honest, if the SGinnovate rep was not present, I think he would not have apologized.
At the end of the interview, I asked him several questions regarding his products because to me, his products do not seem innovative and things that I could do as an FYP project in my uni or poly even. From what I can gather, most of his products seem outsourced either locally with tertiary education or overseas to some 3rd world country. None seems like he did by himself or things he understands. Overall, things look grim for this company. Both the product and the higher management look bad
