Based on my interview experience, the company culture raised serious red flags around respect and professionalism.
Every interview was scheduled late at night for the following day with little notice (why are they working so late?), no scheduling tool provided, and confirmation only hours beforehand, which felt disorganized and inconsiderate of candidates’ time.
During the interviews, when I asked questions about the company and its processes, I was often met with “I don’t know” responses, which further reflected a lack of preparation and transparency. Or, maybe, internally, it's just a mess.
Additionally, the head of the engineering team came across as rude and condescending during the interview, which made the experience uncomfortable and unprofessional.
To top it off, they ghosted me after the interview.
Even if I had received an offer, the experience was poor enough that I would have declined it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The screening call focused on prior experience and culture fit. The technical interview focused on explaining hardware and networking concepts.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BioConnect (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2016
Interview
In person interview with two developers and one HR person. Afterwards, I was told that they would get back to me with a code challenge to take home. I never heard back. I followed up a week later and they said they'd made an offer to someone else. No feedback, no sense of where I was in the process. It was discouraging.
