      Merchandising and Inventory Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Best Buy

      Interview

First step (at least when I worked there) was to submit an online application which included a long "personality test." I think I literally had to take the test 3 times in order to "pass" it, and I probably wouldn't of had that luxury if I didn't know someone who worked there. It has weird questions like "Does it make you mad when guilty criminals are set free?" Second step was getting a call from someone, I think it was the supervisor or manager for the department I applied to, and set up an initial interview. Mine was with the manager of the department, but it can also be with the supervisor. They asked all the standard interview questions (strength/weakness, talk about a time you had to overcome adversity, etc.). I believe the manager ended the interview by setting up the second interview which was with the general manager (store manager). If you get to that second interview I'm pretty sure you have the job. Third step was the second interview with the store manager. I don't remember much from this, or the purpose of it, but I do remember he grilled me about stealing from the store. Asked something along the lines of "what would you do if you were a manager here and you caught an employee stealing something small like a CD or DVD?" I said uhh I would call the police most likely. He responds that's exactly what I would do and I would take pleasure walking with you while you are handcuffed through the store and out to the police car. I guess his point was he doesn't want to hire people that will steal from them (which is reasonable) but he was kind of brash about it.

      Question 1

Nothing out of the ordinary as far as I can remember. Typical "what are your strengths, weakness, talk about a time you overcame conflict or adversity, etc."

      Interview

I applied online and got called for an interview a week later. Asked about availability, experience, "why best buy?". Said they will conduct a phone interview but got called to come in for a 2nd face to face instead? Took a week to respond for the 2nd. Met with the department manager this time. Asked the stealing question, what's your biggest weakness, how to deal with customers / coworkers in a difficult situation, etc. Do a bit of prep and you should be fine (YouTube and this site )... Called me a few hours after to come in for the 3rd with the GM. Same type of questions as the 2nd. Offered me the job right after. E-mailed offer and drug test instructions. Need to take drug test 2 days after accepting.

      Application

      Interview

I applied on February 20th, 2015. I got a call on the 24th..so 4 days after I applied I got a call from the store manager, she told me to come in for an interview. She was super nice on the phone, and I was really excited. When I got there they asked the usual question, "why do you want to work here", "when was a time you had to go the extra mile for a customer" and so on, that took about 15-20 minutes. She told me that I was a good fit as a computer sales person as well, so I was interviewed by the person In charge of that department too. After the interview was over, the store manager told me to come back tomorrow to talk to the GM, for a second imterview. He interviewed me and after probably 10 minutes he offered me the job. After the GM offered me the job, he told me that I will be getting an electronic job offer in my email, the same email that I used to apply for the job with, I still haven received anything yet, but it's the weekend anyways so I think I'll receive it on Monday or Tuesday the latest. Both of the interviews that were conducted were super fun and relaxed, there was no pressure at all. Everyone was really nice, I even got to know the employees before I even started. When I receive the electronic job offer I will obviously accept it.
