      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Best Buy (Boston, MA) in Oct 2011

      Interview

Filled out application online. Got a call from a recruiter the next day and went through a phone interview. The phone interview wasnt hard, it was just basically talk about your past experience and describe yourself. After that she set me up with an interview with the mobile sales manager. That was about a week later. Could of been sooner but i wasnt available. But the interview with the manager was ok. The manager starts off by asking you to talk about yourself then he talks about his experience and Best Buy. That part of the interview was cool. You get to open up and show your personality. Then from there he takes out a packet and starts asking question from it and writes down your response. Depending on your experience, someone might think its hard but the questions are really those generic interview questions. "tell me about a time when you had to help someone; tell me about a time when you had to show leadership; what are the steps of selling" etc... After that I was offered the job but was told i had to meet with the Best Buy GM first. So that was about a week later. Heres where the bad part starts. I was 5 min late because i took public transportation. When I got to the store i went to the kisok just like the last interview. Had to wait another 5 min to ask for the gm because it was busy. One of the reps told me to go to the front to the security part and ask for the guard to page the GM. So i did that and waited and another "manager" came out and asked why I was late. Told her the situation and rudely she says "yea were going to have to reschedule". Right there i knew i wasnt going to be hired. So I explained the situation again and she said she would go to the back and talk to the GM. 5 min later she comes back out and says "yeah im sorry but he says he has another interview coming in and we have to reschedule and that I shouldve had security page him earlier". I said no one ever told me to go to security to have him "paged". I said this is unprofessional and I walked out. Needless to say i didnt get a call for rescheduling. Im sure someone else might have better luck in the hiring process lol. But basically if you get called in to meet the GM, your already hired. Just dont be late lol.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Best Buy (Bellingham, WA)

      Interview

I applied online and was called for an interview two days later. There is a basic over-the-phone interview during which a friendly woman asked me, "What attracted you to Best Buy", "Why should we choose you", etc. They asked me to come in for an interview with the assistant manager the next day, which I came in to. I waited about ten minutes before anyone came out and he seemed like he had already determined not to hire me. I have too much sales experience to allow that from a Best Buy manager and sold him on my customer service. He said they generally schedule another interview later, but checked my answers and asked if I could wait a few minutes for the general manager. The general manager was extremely assumptive about my sales experience, asked few questions, smiled when I asked about the position and told me that would concern whatever candidate they chose. Each person I spoke with committed to call back either way and now avoid any calls to the store. It's quite entertaining what they consider an application process.
