I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Berkeley House (Tokyo) in Jan 2019
Interview
Fairly standard. Online screening conversation with standard questions discussing prior experience, motivations for teaching, potential availability etc.
Received an email a month later indicating I was to be offered a position. Went through online induction with another recruited teacher and one of the company's staff members (strange). Went through the companies' philosophy and approach to teaching. This in itself was thorough.
I asked when I would get a contract and got no clear answer. I then did some 'trial' lessons, with the stated objective to give me feedback, as they have a very specific approach to teaching. Got very positive feedback after trial lessons.
Was supposed to start shortly after, but got an email from one of the staff members stating commencement of the online teaching portal was delayed. Never heard back after.

What teaching techniques or approaches are you familiar with?
I applied online. I interviewed at Berkeley House (Tokyo)
Interview
Contacted them through their website and had an interview online, which was impressive given that Japanese companies are about a century behind. The interviewer was clear about the requirements for the position, which were stupid but again, it's Japan. Then came salary talks, and I politely asked if the pay was negotiable (they were offering peanuts for all the requirements they had). They never even replied.
Waste of time.
