This was for a senior director level role.
The process is well covered in other reviews so I will not repeat here, but suffice to say it takes up a lot of time to write responses to their many questions, sending them your academic transcipts (which every other company does at referencing stage) and to undertake the online assessments (with camera on). You have no interaction with any humans during these initial rounds, so their time investment is minimal.
I made it through all of these rounds and the first online interview was scheduled in four weeks time. I found that strange as I expected them to move quickly for the type of company they are. I received an email from HR *10 mins* before the scheduled interview time cancelling the interview as they had already filled the position. They had just forgotten to tell me, resulting in me investing more time preparing for the interview and setting time aside for it. Completely unprofessional behaviour.
On probing, I was informed that they had a suitable internal candidate. Fair enough, that happens and I moved on.
Now I have come across person who filled the role - drumroll - an external candidate! So they clearly lied to me. They are happy for you to waste your time on the front end of the process where they are not required to spend any of their time - they position this a process they have seen work best, even though most places would have you on a phone asap especially for a senior role.
The complete disregard for a senior candidate's time, makes me despair for all of the junior candidates that are applying. Hopefully this gives you an insight into the joke of a culture you are trying to go into.
Bullet dodged for me.
