After initial HR screening, I met a dev and discussed the position informally, then had a technical interview where we further discussed experience, and had a couple coding challenges to complete. They were calm and supportive during the interviews

Interview
The HR interview was positive, but the second technical/behavioral interview was disappointing. The interviewer joined late without apologizing, seemed unprepared, was reading my CV during the interview, left several awkward silences after my answers, and even asked the same question twice. Overall, it felt disorganized, unprofessional, and disrespectful of the candidate’s time, with some additional red flags around frequent extra hours.

Unprofessional and extremely disorganized.
I applied online and spoke to someone that clearly had not spent much time reading my resume because they immediately asked me how much salary I'm looking for and explained that talking to me was a mistake because people in my area tend to ask for higher salaries. Despite this I assured them that I don't necessarily want a high salary and when they pressed me I even gave them a number. This was very off-putting and immediately gave me a bad impression of the company.
But we continued talking and things went fairly well so they scheduled a follow-up interview with someone else. The 2nd person was about 10 minutes late to our video meeting. And since only 30 minutes had been originally scheduled we rushed through many questions within about 20 minutes.
After about 5 more days of waiting I received a message that I would be advancing to the next step: answering some very generic technical questions in written form. I submitted my answers within about 3 hours and I'm pretty sure there was nothing fundamentally incorrect or alarming with my responses.
I waited another 48 hours before receiving a message that we would not be continuing. The whole thing was a pretty big waste of time as they clearly were not interested in hiring people from my area from the start. I will be staying away from this company in the future because they will be bankrupt within 5 years with such horrible organization, strange interview practices, and just overall bad transparency. Good riddance.
