What a bizarre experience. I had an interview with the recruiter and we discussed the role and I was able to share more of my background. The recruiter said he would pass my info over to the hiring manager and he would set up an interview for her and I to meet. I had the interview with the hiring manager and it went well and I enjoyed the conversation. The recruiter calls me later to let me know that I have been selected as the final candidate and I was being offered the job. A day or two later the recruiter calls me back and said the SVP’s of the company would like to meet with me before the formal offer is sent over. Huh?? So I meet with the two SVP’s and they grilled me for 45 minutes and asked me to send over 2-3 proposals I worked on. I sent those proposals over to the SVP’s and then was ghosted. No one ever called me to say my offer was being rescinded or I was no longer being considered for the role. Not cool. I’m okay if you don’t see me as the right fit, but how are you going to verbally extend an offer to me and then never follow up to say it’s no longer available? Very strange and not professional. I feel like I dodged a bullet here.
