During first interview with in-house recruiter, I was asked my preferred salary range. Recruiter notified me the range was above their cap for the position. I declined to accept lower.
Called me 1 week later offering an interview for a Senior position within my preferred range.
I accepted and interviewed. LOVED the team. Went back and forth on final salary offer, received verbal offer.
2 days later when I expected my formal offer via email, recruiter called claiming divisional president would not approve the offer, or offer me a lower salary.
Most unprofessional experience where I was chased after, gave my salary range 3-4 times and was assured it was approved. Then suddenly passed on? Seems to display the level of disorganization and the lack of trust in the marketing/BD team to decide their team.
Seems to me if I was a great candidate as they said, upper management would have no problem approving the hire.
Lastly, the claim was that the Div. Pres. would not approve the offer because it was higher than what a current team member made. The anonymity of this person's salary was revoked by admitting this, as they also told me they were newly promoted to the senior level.
Would not recommend interviewing with this company. A complete mess for a company claiming to be very well-established in the industry.
