One of the most heartbreaking experiences that genuinely made me start prioritising myself. The first round of interview with the Chennai team went very well. Out of the two interviewees, one joined pretty much at the end of the interview, which should have been my first red flag. She was attending the vc from her phone. Nevertheless it was a nice conversation about my strength and weaknesses, which I did not shy away from narrating. A nice detailed run-through of my past work experience.
I was asked to send some published writing samples, which I did.
Then, the second round of interview was scheduled with the VP - a 30 minute slot was blocked. I logged in five minutes prior but nobody turned up. I messaged the HR, tried calling her, but to no avail. She did not respond. For thirty minutes, I just sat there staring at my self on the computer screen. Then, after half an hour - the blocked time - I dropped off. I sent a polite e-mail to the HR, wondering if this will be rescheduled. No response.
I found one of the interviewers from the earlier round on LinkedIn, connected with him, and wrote a polite message just asking for a reason. I even mentioned that I understood things like this happen and all I am expecting is one line of communication. Not only did he not read and not respond to my message, but also removed me from his connection immediately.
