The role was heavily downplayed, with repeated warnings about “starting from the bottom” and doing junior operational work regardless of experience. It felt more like they were trying to scare me off than attract senior talent, which was disappointing and off-putting.

They asked a very generic question about product marketing metrics, focused mostly on operational tracking rather than strategic outcomes or portfolio growth. It felt disconnected from how the role was advertised, which emphasized strategic brand leadership and market development.
