I received an email for a phone interview. The recruiter scheduled a phone call last minute and did not confirm with me until an hour before the phone call. During the interview, the recruiter asked simple questions in an extremely complicated way, dressing up the question instead of getting to the point. At the end of the phone interview, the recruiter told me I will be notified of my status by the end of the week. I ended up having to reach out to her two weeks later.

I applied online and received a call the following week, on a Friday, from a recruiter. Our call went great (so I thought) and he let me know he will be moving forward with a second interview and will schedule me with that team's hiring manager. On the phone he was pulling up that person's schedule to add me in but said the person has PTO for the next few weeks. He said this is most likely an error but will reach out to me the next week once he gets that cleared up. Come Monday morning I received a generic email saying while they think my experience is great they will not be moving forward but wish me luck. Given that my interview was at 10:30AM on Friday and I received this email at 10AM on Monday I know he did not do anything but waste my time. While this company has outstanding reviews there are also plenty of other who have similar experiences. This may sound like I am bitter about not getting the job but it is more so the principle of wasting someone's time and going back on what you say. The more appropriate response during our call would have been to say they will review and get back to me NOT that you are scheduling an interview but not sure when because of a schedule error which I am sure was a lie. I encourage leadership to review their hiring processes and what their recruiters should/should not say.
