The entire process was impersonal and ultimately broken. No human contact what's so ever.
After applying online, I was invited via text from Availity Recruiting Team to participate in a digital interview.
At the start, Greg Russell (Talent Acquisition Manager) greets you via recorded video, acknowledges the awkwardness of the digital interview and thanks you for participating. Then I was presented with seven questions to answer with a 1 - 3 minute maximum (depending on the question) video response.
At one point the app errored, and I was presented with a statement that I had not provided an answer and requested I type the answer in a text box. This was completely bizarre as I hadn't even been asked any question to begin with, which is how I replied to the error. After submitting that "answer," things got back on track but a smooth process going forward was not to be.
After completing six out of seven questions, the video upload on the sixth response repeatedly failed. I messaged the designated Help in the interview portal (Availity uses a third-party app - Entelo Convey IQ Candidate Interface). After no response in the help chat, I sent a text to the Recruiting Team and received an automated reply directing me to its online app to "begin a conversation with the recruiting team." So, at this point, I sent a third message in the third platform, informing Availity of the video upload failure and help request. Refreshing the interview portal, restarted the entire session from the beginning - no data was saved.
No one from Availity ever responded to any of the three help requests I sent. The only message I received from Availity was a "friendly reminder" text two days later asking me to perform the digital interview.
The other issue with Availity's digital interview was privacy. Candidates are required to sign a waiver to agree to release their data i.e., your video recording, to be used in any way the company wants - very Orwellian 1984.
The entire process was quite disappointing and a poor way to start off a relationship with a candidate you're looking to become your next employee. Nor did the process impart a favourable impression of Availity in general.
