I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Auth0 in Oct 2020
Interview
Screening call with HR,
Screening slightly technical call with Head of SE,
Technical Challenge using Auth0,
SE Role Play Interview,
Final Chat with Hiring Manager
I marked this as difficult. I thought the technical conversations and the screeners were pretty straight forwards. If you know what you're talking about, and have shown some due diligence in doing some basic research which should be expected, you should be okay.
However, the technical challenge, was definitely a challenge.
There are a LOT of stages, and it's not always 100% clear what's next, but I made it through, so I can't complain too much right?

Interview
Interview process as described in their blog post about it.
Phone screen, a number of one-to-ones with various team members
Technical challenge was very in depth and requires a lot of time commitment from both sides. Involved being given a case study/fake rfp for which I needed create a PoC.
Presentation of solution to team involved in case study.
Personally, I genuinely enjoyed this interview and a really great way to learn more about the product. Despite being given quite positive feedback throughout the process and at the end of the presentation, I never received any actual feedback or rejection notice after the process. However as a number of weeks have passed I shall assume the worst. Very disappointing outcome.

Interview
Another inconsiderate company: 2 Phone screens -> 1 week take home challenge -> ghosted for weeks-> generic rejection email at the end.
The folks I spoke to (HR and hiring manager) were very pleasant. What I will warn against is that there is little consideration by these companies in their hiring process. It's okay to not be selected for the position. But it's a slap in the face to ask an applicant to spend hours digging through messy docs, learn the library, build an application with little assistance only to be ghosted and then receive a generic rejection with no feedback.
Applicants sacrifice weekends and other opportunities to go through the process, the least the company can do is provide more than a templated email.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am so sorry to hear about your experience interviewing. It is very important to me to ensure every candidate has a very positive experience regardless of final outcome. It is very unfortunate that you didn't get quick follow-up on your exercise. I would be very interested to learn more about your specific experience in order to improve our recruiting process.
Please feel free to contact me directly to discuss further if this is amenable to you.
