      Frontend Engineer - II Interview

      11 Oct 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Atlassian in Sept 2023

      Interview

I applied via Atlassian website for multiple role. After getting rejection mails for couple of openings, I did get call for this particular role. There were total 7 interviews. 4 technical and 3 non-tech. 1. A Karat interview. Screening round. Checking out your tech skills. Atlassian gives you two attempts to clear this round. 2. Browser coding. Asked to create a small app/component and the output should be visible and interactive on browser. With follow up questions. 3. JS coding. This is more of problem solving. You may use vanilla JS or any other framework/library you prefer. It is recommended to use vanilla JS though. 4. System design. I was asked to create an HLD for an application. 5. Values interview. This was non-tech. Checking your fit with Atlassian's values. 6. Hiring Manager. This was to judge you overall, your learnings and experience. 7. HR and offer discussion. The recruiters and interviewers were all very helpful and cooperative. Sessions were interactive.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Karat Interview: 1. An image was provided with some conditions. I was asked to make the same template using html css only. 2. Create a paginated list with react. 3. Theory questions on Js, React, Networking. Browser Coding: 1. Fetch data and display task and sub tasks. Sort the task based on status. The solution should be scalable, performant. Components should be re-usable and file structure should be maintainable. 2. Theory questions on react. JS Coding: 1. Fetch the data and cache the result. store data in sucha way that call should not be made again. Question was about feature flags. Fetch the feature flag value, store the result and add subscription method to flag value change. I was asked to use vanilla js to solve. System Design: Design a system for task app. Task can be in-progress, todo or done status. Emplaning everything in detail. Values & HM round: How to handle conflict? Why want to join atlassian? What did you learn? Behavioural questions.
