This was actually my 2nd interview within a 6 month time-frame with Atkore in Harvey, IL. The first interview, was for a more specialized recruiter role. I knew I wasn't as qualified as maybe other candidates would be but I was happy for the chance and I did not expect much. That first interview was pretty long, around 2 hours. When I was told I didn't get it, again no surprise, but they did offer me a second interview for a different position more closely suited to my background that had just opened up. The recruiter and I corresponded via LinkedIn, email, and phone conversation. I took an online personality test prior the interview. The position I was interviewing for was exactly what I was doing in my current role but a little different as I didn't have the union experience. That second interview went on for 4 hours!! I am not kidding, 4 hours LONG. I only had a 10 minute break to use the bathroom, no lunch and no water was provided. It was straight awful. I first went through a panel interview, then a one-on-one with the initial recruiter I spoke with to setup the interview, a plant tour with a floor supervisor I met during the panel interview, followed by another one-on-one with a manager who was seniored in his role at Atkore. By the end of the process, I literally almost fell over after being in heels that long and being walked around the building that much. It definitely left a bad taste in my mouth for this company as even after all that, they never followed up with me ONCE. Two interviews, 6 hours in total spent there, and not even a courtesy call/email to say I wasn't selected.
