Interview questions [2]
Question 1
For HLD round it was a deep dive. Interviewer asked questions about the work and implementation for the same. He was asking questions in deepth
What would be the index required for query and all
He also asked question like
How smart do you think you are
What will make you leave asphora the next day you joined
What excites you for this new opportunity
The MC round was design a rate limiter. AI usage was allowed. The expectation was to add dynamic rules for rate limit config - which is service/ tenant based.
He asked question what to do if one service's load start impacting CPU and thus impact on rate limit check for other services. If anyone knows answer for this please share..
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Aspora
Interview
Application process: Recruiter reached out a couple of times.
Stage 1: Resume deep dive with a engineer + a system design problem
Stage 2: Machine coding round to implement a ledger that's scalable. The interviewer seemed inexperienced and wasn't well versed with scalable design principles. He suggested to use optimistic locking in a high contention scenario. Wasn't too happy when I countered that an event sourcing approach would be more ideal and that ledgers should operate on a strong consistency model for writes.
Overall experience: The engineering team doesn't seem very experienced and the company is dealing with a lot of technical debt, Avoid interviewing if you have better options.
The interview process at Aspora was smooth, well structured, and thoughtful; the assignment was practical, role relevant, and genuinely enjoyable, giving clear insight into expectations and real work and impact.
