The talent acquisition manager that I was assigned really dropped the ball for my case. The interview process was professional and seemed to have went well. She told me that she would give me a call in a few days. When those days passed, I waited until the beginning of the following work week and I sent an email for a follow up of the application process and also thanking the person for their time. I was curious today, so I looked up the position because I know it's a startup position, so it could have been taken down due to implementation issues, but it stated "not selected." Candidate "ghosting" is unprofessional even for an "esteemed" employer such as Ascension, and this particular position is located in a small town, so I am shocked that I did not even get an email because people here tend to be more courteous and professional.
I will additionally add there was a salary range listed on the job description, and when I was asked about my expectations, I stated the average of the range listed. I was shocked when the manager listed a salary that was not listed on the job application and was told "well it's for the area." If that was true, then it should have been placed on the job description correctly. The company is wanting a data manager to implement a program and then manage data discrepancies. I list a discrepancy on their own application which probably was the reason for not being selected. Definitely dodged a bullet there, so keep that in mind!
