Interview
I 1-click applied on zip recruiter and got a call the next morning for an interview for the following day. i shouldve known from the vague website and such fast interview that something was up, but alas, i cannot read a scam a mile away. but when i walked into the building looking for "HD Management" and only seeing "Ascendance, Inc" in the directory, I knew something was up. and when i walked into the sad, barren, 3-room business suite with 2 other ppl waiting to be interviewed, I knew it was going to be a scam. I waited 30 minutes for my own interview, and in that time I googled ascendance and read the reviews here (but not the interview stories). Honestly if i'd read the interviews I'd have walked out. Not worth the time I spent on eye liner.
Interviewer spent a lot of time talking about her coming to san fran from tennessee and going door to door and how she just moved to long beach 3 weeks ago. I asked her why the door said Ascendance, and she dodged the question. I asked her how old the company was and she completely sidelined into this story of how if she decided to hire me and train me and she could trust me and send me to san bernardino to start another office, i could name it however i wanted, which was an answer in itself. Dodged questions about what specifically they had done to market their product (its basically just door to door and setting up booths) didn't give me specific examples of marketing strategies they had used for previous clients, claimed they worked with fortune 100 and fortune 500 companies and too many clients to go through. when i asked what salary i could expect, she said it would depend on experience. when i pushed for "well based on my resume and the position title and what we've just talked about, what can I expect" and she said they had three pay scales: salaried, hourly, and commissions for the position and it depended on experience. I asked what benefits they had. She said at salaried they offer a heavy discount on health insurance.
honestly, don't waste your time unless you want a good story to tell people. they're going by multiple names, but if i've learned anything, it's if someone calls you for a next day interview, it's a scam. and if you're still hesitant, if the receptionist is just straight up calling ppl for interviews for half an hour, then walk out.

Interview
Saw the posting online and thought it looked interesting so I applied. Recieved a call a day later and the girl I spoke to over the phone seemed very nice and friendly. She explained what the position was about which entailed working with telecommunication companies (Sprint) on government outreach programs for lower income families. Everything seemed legit until I asked her about compensation and actual job duties because she dodged the question and said it would all be covered during the interview because "she was only HR and didnt know the job duties. But I decided to give it a shot anyway to see what it was like.
When I got there I noticed that the office name was Asendance and not D success marketing, which is what it said on the job posting. Small office, probably 6 or 7 people. Then I recognized one of the ladies from a previous interview at another company! She greeted me and introduced me to the manager who would be conducting the interview. It turns out I drove 2 hours for a 15 minute interview that seemed very rushed. The manager was very unprofessional. Chewing gum, kept looking at his watch, and even looked bored when I was answering his questions. The position was basically a sales job at a 99 cent store with minimum wage pay plus commission. They try to sell you the job as a chance to make a lot of money and promote to manager within a year but the place is a scam. They will hire anyone as long as they seem excited.
I learned my lesson and wont be applying for similar positions that "dont require experience/ college grads apply now". Avoid these positions/companies as they all belong to one large company. They have constant turnover and are always interviewing. Misleading job descriptions and employees leave when they find out that they are being scammed.

Place is not that amazing, small, and packed. Only 7 people in the office. Asked to interview the next day and did not provide me dates to choose from.
