Interview process was not as well-structured. There was not manager or lead present while interviewing a senior engineer. I don't think a Lead engineer as a sole interviewer is sufficient to assess a candidate.
The questions asked by the interviewer were often unclear, which made it challenging to provide best responses. The coding bit was present at the last 10mins of the interview, only to be rushed by the interviewer. No time left for the interviewee to ask questions about the team, role, company.
If another candidate was already been selected, be transparent and inform that to the other candidates , instead of conducting an interview for the heck of it.
