      Product Manager Interview

      19 Sept 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Amherst

      Interview

Before I was ever able to speak to a person, I had to take two separate online tests. One was the typical personality, but the other was basically SAT prep. When the recruiter called me for my first round, she just rapid fired off the most basic questions and didn’t even bother to wait for my reply before asking the next question. This went on for about 12 minutes. At the end, before asking me if I had any questions, she announced that she was moving to a new position the next day and wouldn’t be the one following up. And that was the end of the interview. It was a terrible experience.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Amherst

      Interview

After the first interview, they said they really liked me and told me I would go to the next interview but then ghosted me and never got back to me, very bad communication! I sent them several emails and called them several times and they just ignored me. Should at least get back to me if they decide to hire someone else.

It’s the initial screening so just the basic stuff, like what’s your experience, etc.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Amherst (Austin, TX)

      Interview

2 Phone interviews and 1 face to face. Phone interviews were interesting asking to demonstrate how I can deal with real world conflicts. However, face to face was more brief than expected. The interviewee stuck to just one question and did not attempt to explore other knowledge areas. Moreover, after the interview there was absolutely no communication from the HR regarding the result of the interview. I mean, come on, the company needs to respect the time and effort of the candidate as well, at least by acknowledging with a follow-up email.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you handle conflicts in a team Describe Agile methodology
