I applied online. I interviewed at American Public Works Association (Kansas City, MO) in Jul 2025
Interview
I had a brief interview with the HR manager which lasted about half an hour. Two days later, I was asked to participate in a virtual interview with three members of the company. This interview lasted an hour. I was asked several difficult questions which I answered to the best of my ability. This seemed excessive for an associate position. They couldn't tell me what the salary for the position is, which I found incredibly odd. After spending a cumulative total of an hour and a half interviewing, they said the next step would be an additional interview. I do not know what else they could possibly need to know given all of the in depth questions they asked me. It's been two weeks since the virtual interview and it's been crickets from the company which I find extremely unprofessional. I had already decided not to move forward given the unnecessarily difficult interview and lack of information about salary, but it's very upsetting to be ghosted after all of the time I spent interviewing here.

Question 1
They ended the interview by asking me which three words I'd use to describe myself which was comically odd given all of the in depth questions they'd asked me previously.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at American Public Works Association (Washington, DC) in Jul 2019
Interview
It was very standard. There were two people interviewing me, one from the DC office and one from the main office. They asked standard questions about my interests and experience.
