I was contacted via email to come in for an interview with Mr. Correa of the Correa Group and told to confirm the time and date they'd selected by phone or email. I confirmed the next day by phone to a voicemail and asked if she would please email me a job description so I'd be prepared for the interview (the email just said they'd seen my resume but didn't say where). I never received the description but the company looked very attractive when I researched it. That's when I discovered I was actually being interviewed at AIL, a subsidiary. When I arrived I was asked to fill out a questionnaire. The first question was "how competitive are you?", an odd question to ask an office worker. I flagged down one of the organizers of what was turning into a large group interview and found out my resume had been essentially mined to fill in the number of bodies needed. I told him about receiving an email with the wrong company and interviewer names, no mention of the job title, and no response to my request for a job description, and that my resume very clearly pointed to administrative/secretarial skills, with no sales experience at all. He was very nice and, even though busy, gave me his full attention and an apology. The research I did, the appearance of the offices, and the friendliness of the staff was very favorable, but I gave a thumbs down because of the mining process. I spent a lot of time preparing for the interview, all for nothing. I know about mining now, but the email was so specific about names, times, and dates that I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had this experience.
