I submitted my resume online and was contacted a few weeks later by an Operations Manager. After a brief phone screen, they wanted me to come in for a formal interview later that week (there is only 1 onsite interview in the process).
Prior to the interview, I asked if I would be able to tour the warehouse. I was told that it wasn't normally done, but they could accommodate and do so a half hour prior to interviewing me.
The interview itself was done by a panel of four Managers. Each took turns asking questions from a predetermined list and took notes as I answered. It was organized, professional and welcoming.
I felt the interview went well and genuinely thought it was a good fit. One of the Managers emphatically stressed that "the next step in the process is very slow". That this position had to go through the corporate office (Torrence, CA) and would take time. So if I didn't hear back in a few weeks not to be discouraged. The person continued that "Everyone they interview would be contacted regardless of the decision...Everyone". Since the slowness of the process and the promise of "everyone" interviewed would be followed up with, I took it as an implied "be patient and don't constantly contact us for an update". Because of this, I only sent one brief follow-up email a few days later thanking everyone for their time as a professional courtesy.
I never heard back (this was almost a year ago). Not even a form email stating I was not selected. This was extremely disappointing. Not so much that I wasn't selected, but that after stressing that "everyone"(the interviewer put great emphasis on the word multiple times) would be contacted regardless....only to receive no communication is very unprofessional.
The process was very pleasant and I feel Honda makes incredible products. Unfortunately, the failure to follow through on their promise turned it into a negative experience for me.
