I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Nov 2016
Interview
I applied online about 4 months ago and a couple weeks later was asked to take the video assessment. This part was awkward, you had to talk into your computer looking at yourself answering a couple different questions that came up on the screen. After completing the video assessment I waited for about 4 months until I heard anything back. I received an email informing me that I passed the video assessment and they wanted to fly me in for the face-to-face interview. They booked me a flight for the night before my interview. I flew in and had to book my own hotel ( the company did not pay for this). The next day I went into the American Airlines head quarters for my interview. I got there about an hour before the interview was scheduled. A group of us met in the lobby and got to know each other before the interview started. There were about 35 of us all in one room, a variety of both male and female. I sat at a table with about 5 other people ( get there early enough so you are able to meet people before the whole process begins, this really helps you relax and feel comfortable with everyone around you). We then started with a group project, we had to think of three things the whole group had in common then we had to write something about ourselves no one would know about you by looking at you. Be engaged during this part, the people who will be interviewing you are walking around observing how well you work in groups. Your group then stands up in front of the room and you introduce yourself and talk about everything on the poster. After all of the groups are finished presenting you go into the group interview. I had 7 people in my group and two women interviewing us. They asked a question and you had to go down the line and answer the question. After the first question they ask you a second one, and you can go in any order you want. The third question you read off of a card. You look at it, read it out loud, then answer the question on the spot. After everyone is finished answering all the questions you go back into the main room. The director goes over everything about the company on a slide show, after that you are able to ask as many questions as you would like. The people that interviewed you will pull you out of the room one by one. If you did not get the job they will send you home and if they want you to go further in the process they will take you into another room and have a one on one interview with you and will finger print you from there. They then tell you they will contact you in 7-10 days and send you back to the airport. I was finger printed and i'm waiting to hear back!
