The Ambit Group misrepresented a job and offered it to me, and then reneged on the accepted offer over a month later after numerous email conversations adhering to the idea that the job was legit, thereby possibly committing fraud by misrepresentation and promissory fraud. An Ambit recruiter called me on a Wed, I phone screened, and then had an in person interview with the hiring mgr on Thursday at the client site in Silver Spring, MD. Friday, the gave me a job offer, and I accepted. Then, it all went down the toilet.
Ambit had taken my SSN, my passport copy, my credit release, they made me sch. and go to the client to get my fingerprints taken (privacy issues/violations possible?) (is this allowed per the Patriot Act??), and Ambit kept emailing me saying can't wait to have you start, and the client is working on getting you through their system... Ambit even took a formal full background investigation on me, gave me a copy of the report, which was fully cleared. Ambit even had me take their client's training course and print off a certificate to show I passed their government ID card training. then, Ambit last minute, callously emailed me (not even a phone call or apology) and said the client pulled the position. But, client subsequently said the position was never offered to anyone and as far as they know, it is still open. FRAUD!!
