I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSights (Tokyo) in Nov 2023
Interview
I recently applied for this role that was posted for candidates with less than 2 years of experience. With over 5 years of experience myself, I applied anyway because I was very interested in the opportunity. I received initial confirmation I was not qualified based on being overexperienced. However, after thanking them for considering me, they reached back out asking if I had Japanese skills. I confirmed I did, and after 1 week they invited me to move forward with the interview process. I attended their recommended webinar and scheduled an interview time. However, on the actual phone interview call, they again determined I was overqualified based on further review of my background. While I understand their desire to find candidates that fit the role requirements, the process could have been smoother. Having a more standardized screening process could improve efficiency for both the company and prospective candidates.
Initial call with a recruiter to gain an insight into the role. This was followed by two subsequent calls with more senior members of staff which entailed more technical questions. A language test also had to be carried out.

Question 1
Role a play a scenario based on the case study you're given.
Stay away. Realized how much of a scam it is as I went through- ended on my own accord after final round. There will be no exit opportunities with this company whatsoever. You will be stuck. Know some friends who have worked here and regret every second of it.
