      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Allstate (Irving, TX) in Aug 2017

      Interview

I applied online on the career section of AllState and the next business day I got an email from a recruiter. She wanted to schedule a 30 minutes phone interview within next 2 weeks. So i gave her a date and time, and she scheduled it for the same date n time. Gave my 30 minutes interview with the recruiter on 21st Aug 2017. She was rude from the first second. First of all the interview time was 2 pm and she called me after 15 minutes and said I am sorry for being late. She was really rude since the first second of the call. This was the most rude recruiter I ever came across in my life. I swear. I dont know why she was rude. And she was not at all interested in knowing my skillset, education, experience and background. She just wanted to verify employment dates with me and the resume I had submitted. The most dumb recruiter I ever came across. For this job opening, my skillset and experienced matched 100% and I knew every technical thing needed for this position. But i was not at all asked a single technical question. The interview lasted for 27 minutes and all she kept on asking was what i did 5 years back and asked me the employment year. I said that is already mentioned on my resume, why are you asking me again. She was really dumb, rude and arrogant. I hope someone from AllState reads my interview experience and fires that recruiter immediately. Not because i was not selected. Because she doesn't know how to do her job. 30 minutes after my interview, i checked my application status and it was updated: "Declined. Unfortunately you were not selected for this position." I was like, i was the best candidate for this job opening since my skillset and experience matched 100% and i had thorough knowledge of what the job description said. But no, the recruiter was really dumb. I will not apply for any position at All State in the future.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Allstate (Northfield, IL) in Aug 2021

      Interview

Applied online and had a phone screening with HR discussing technical qualifications a few days later. The second interview was a week later with the Manager and Team lead and was largely behavioral. "Describe a time when you did X". The third interview was with the manager, team lead and a team member and was technical in nature. Questions were fairly simple and could be answered by a college student with a cursory understanding of Security. After the questions, they told me more about the specifics of the role, who my team lead would be and when to expect a call about the final steps. A few business hours later "After much consideration and discussion", I receive a form letter rejection. Obviously they intended to hire someone else before my interview even took place. I understand that these things happen, but would have preferred they had not wasted my time with a charade.
