      Operations Manager Interview

      25 Jul 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Lynchburg, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Allied Universal (Lynchburg, VA) in Jul 2019

      Interview

The interview was held at a Panera Bread because they didn't have a local office. I thought that was a bit odd, as it seems renting out some office space would have been more appropriate. It also would have allowed for teleconferencing interviews. I'm in the process of relocating and had to drive four hours for the interview. I met the gentlemen and we had more of a conversation than an interview. He made a few comments during the interview that I thought were a bit unprofessional, but I just gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he was trying to make me comfortable. I've personally performed hundreds of interviews in my career and have been trained on various tactics, reading body language, etc. So, I don't get nervous in interviews. I just answer questions honestly. The interview went well, I was more than qualified for the position. At the end of the interview he said that I would be called the following Wednesday to let me know whether or not I got the job. Wednesday came and went and I never got a call. I called on Thursday and he answered. I stated my name and asked if the position had been filled. He just said "Yeah, an internal applicant got the job." No apology for not calling me. No "Thanks for applying, we'll keep your resume' on file." Nothing. The job paid less than half of what I was previously making, but it also wasn't a senior level position. So, I was willing to take a pay cut since I was moving to an area with a lower cost of living. It's disappointing that after driving four hours for an interview, that I didn't even get the courtesy of a "thank you" or the call that was promised. But based on this interaction, I have to believe that it's representative of the company and I'm probably better off not getting the job because I prefer to work in a professional environment.

      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Allied Universal (Tampa, FL) in Feb 2021

      Interview

Consisted of a multiple panel interview where buzz words of entry level and family were thrown around. Was required to create and perform a presentation. Recieved several phone calls the same day of the in person interview in reference to salary requirement. Having a masters degree and 10 years of operation management experience will only get you a $40,000 a year salary. If that is what you are after then go for it

      Interview

About a 2 week process. Applied online, got a phone interview. Talked about my experience, how many people I've managed accounts etc. 2nd interview was with the Director. Didn't ask about my qualifications since they'd already read my resume. They just wanted to know how I would adjust to the job. How I worked, what I did to de-manage stress.
