I applied online. I interviewed at Allen Institute (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2016
Interview
The process took about 3+ weeks. First I had a phone interview with HR, then a few weeks later I was asked for an in-person interview. The in-person interview lasted about 4 hours. I met the team and had multiple group interviews with a variety of people. In my opinion, some of the workers did not seem happy there and made the interview process a little uncomfortable and awkward.

Question 1
Typical interview questions such as tell us about yourself, why do you want to work here, what can you contribute and so on. They also emphasized on how the job is very stressful, and ask how do you handle stress.
Initial screen, then 30 min with hiring manager and then a 45 min research talk with 5 hours of panel interviews. After all that, whole team including HR ghosted me even after I asked for updates several times. Super disrespectful, don’t be surprised if this happens to you too

A senior scientist reached out 2 weeks after I applied. We did a 20 minute Teams video meeting. Said that they would follow up with HR and if selected, HR would reach out about scheduling another interview with other people in the team. Never heard back.
