      Scientific Advisor Interview

      18 Apr 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Austin, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Alk Abello (Austin, TX) in Feb 2018

      Interview

After informationally interviewing a former colleague of a friend at the university where I earned my PhD, this former colleague followed up with me and forwarded my resume to the hiring manager. We scheduled a phone interview, where I spoke with a panel of employees, this former colleague of a friend, and one additional manager. After the phone interview, I was asked to come to the office for an in-person interview that included a presentation on a scientific article of interest. That interview, including my 15-minutes oral presentation, lasted 2 hours and included participants in-person and via conference call. I received some follow-up within the next 2 weeks, and then did not hear back for about a month before receiving an offer.
