This was THE SINGLE WORST interview process I have been through, and I have been through a few. In this hellhole of a jobs market, that is really saying something.
Algorand headhunted for me a Copy Editor job on their marketing team, approaching me and telling me that I had great experience, etc. There was an initial chat (with a guy who was clearly not looking at me via much of the video chat), then I was put through to a second stage interview with a marketing leader.
This is where it gets bad: I was asked to complete a complicated two-part written task. This task was complicated and took me in total two full days because I wanted to do a good job. That's a whole two days of my life unpaid that I spent on this task. I sent it off to the recruiter, waited for a few weeks... and then... nothing. Nada. Total silence.
I waited and waited to get some feedback on the task I had taken such meticulous care over. I chased a few times, and was told they'd get back to me soon.
But I got ghosted.
I find it unbelievable that a company that approached me out of the blue and invited me for interview could be so ridiculously rude and disrespectful of a candidate's time. It is disgusting, shoddy and I hope they read this review and take stock of how poorly it reflects on them and their consideration for people out there who put days and days on end into written tasks and interviews. Please think about how you are affecting people - just be prompt with your feedback, that's all we're asking for as job hunters.
Do not accept an interview with this company unless you enjoy completing long-winded tasks for zero money and then getting ghosted. They clearly do not care about anybody else's experience of them or the time and effort they put in. Steer clear.
