Unethical interview process overall.
An expert from job description pertaining to technical skills as of this writing: "Have basic understanding of networking and internet protocols such as DNS, HTTP and TCPIP"
- For the final round, they have a panel interview, 1 member of Support Delivery Manager team, 1 member of Technical Support team and 1 member of Engagement Manager team.
- The Support engineer comes in unprepared altogether and starts asking Linux related questions. Note, Linux is mentioned nowhere on the job description! Then once mentioned that looking for new opportunities due to being impacted by COVID at previous company, they felt the need to emphasize why exactly -- this was so unethical and unwanted. Learn to respect the candidates!!
Two interviewers on the panel chitchatting amongst themselves while interviewing a candidate and smiling (literally showing teeth)!! Never had such a experience interviewing with any companies out there.
The company needs to train their employees on how to conduct interviews in a respectful and sane manner.
The funny part- speak with existing employees who directly work with Support Delivery Managers, and they will tell you they are not expected to be as Technical at all since they only co-ordinate work between different teams internally including the Technical Support team.
But the reason for rejection given was - not as Technical for the role! Ridiculous experience overall. Wouldn't recommend even interviewing here to be honest. Just makes you feel terrible looking for your next career opportunity when you come across such interviewees.
