Applied online in September 2016 - very basic application, simply asks for personal details and a question on why you are suited to the role.
Received a phone call in the December offering me to come to an assessment centre up in Chester in the March - confirmed and was then required to send various details and documents via email to the hiring personnel.
Assessment centre was very well organised. Started at 8:30am, and at 9am the 10 candidates were taken into a briefing room and briefed on the activities for the day - (group exercise, 1:1 interview, self-assessment, and Q/A session with current Airbus interns). During the briefing, the 20 assessors came in and gave us a brief introduction, the candidates all did the same back.
Group exercise involved working in a team of 5 to suggest the best idea for a new supplier, manufacturing and final assembly link, according to several factors. The team were also required to present to the assessors at the end.
1:1 interview was with 2 assessors. A very relaxed, yet still formal, interview with plenty of chatter and time for questions at the end. The interviewers made me feel very calm and just wanted to get the best out of me. Overall very positive day and process (although slightly long), but went extremely well as received an offer for the internship after 4 days - after being told it would be a week to two weeks.
