      Research Engineer Interview

      5 Dec 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Hersham, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Air Products (Hersham, England) in Nov 2023

      Interview

Overall I had 4 interviews, first was a short one with the recruiter, then and hour long one on teams with one hiring manager, then an in person hour long one with three managers on the panel. These were all great and largely based on my CV and experience. The final interview was an hour long on teams, and was technical based. The bad experience I had was that they didn't give a timeline of when I would hear back, and I only found out I didn't get the role by logging onto the portal. You would think a simple email would be the polite and professional thing to receive after 4 interviews.

      19 Aug 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Air Products in Jul 2020

      Interview

Initially, there was a phone screening. After that, a 1-on-1 interview was scheduled. Then after another phone screening, I had a 2-on-1 interview. Despite the interviewers telling me that I would be emailed about the "results", I was never notified besides checking the applicant portal--- even after I followed-up. The interview was very standard behavioral questions.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you learn? What is success to you? When was a time you stood up to authority? Tell me about a time you dealt with an emotionally charged situation? Tell me about a time you learned something in the workplace that changed how you acted going forward?
      Answer question

      Interview

Talked about my project, my research background and course work. Few behavioral questions were also asked. The current interest of the company and its relevance was also discussed.
