I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Aimpoint Digital in Feb 2024
Interview
- applied online first
- virtual interview with a Data Scientist for first round
- 4 hr long take home project
- 1 hr technical case study style interview with 2 Data Scientists
After I applied online, I scheduled an initial screening interview with a Data Scientist. This is where we talked about my background and they ask about your salary expectations, what you think consulting is, and if you know what decision trees/random forests are. Then, the take home project was a python project where they give you a dataset and you have to show them how you would work with the data to answers their questions, its mainly pandas and seeing if you can catch things like missing data or null values. The interview is supposed to be a "technical" interview, but they asked a series of brain teaser type questions that don't have to do with Data Science, so it kind of felt like they were trying to see how you trip up.
They don't really tell you what to expect from the interview, so there's not a way to prepare for it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you describe Decision Trees to a non-technical person? What do you think consulting is? What are your salary expectations? (using the dataset), what is the average car's mpg?
